One Burger | Miami

    One Burger is a small gourmet restaurant in Coral Gables, located right next to it's sister restaurant The Globe Cafe & Bar.

This small and cozy "burger bar" aims to create the perfect basic burger but strays away from the typical lettuce, tomato, onion, etc.

The burgers are broken down into four categories: 

beef; chicken/turkey & veal; seafood; and vegetarian 

(see menu below)

They also offer free delivery Monday through Friday, to the Downtown/Coral Gables area with a $15 minimum.

Back in Black

Back in Black: The largest costume Halloween party in the US hosted by Go Big Productions.

This event is coming to the Scope Art Arena, located in Midtown Miami.

Starring some of the worlds most renowned DJ's: Sebastian Ingrosso, from the Swedish House Mafia;

Alesso, a prodigy of Ingrosso himself; Bob Sinclair, who is currently in the process of opening Amnesia Miami Beach; and Erick Morillo, the owner of Arkadia Nightclub in the Fontainebleau Hotel.

The mayhem begins at 12PM and doesn't end until midnight.

La vie en vida, Calle Ocho Miami.

 

As a child every weekend I was shipped off to the far land of Key Biscayne, forced to spend every waking hour with my Cuban grandparents. After school on Friday, my sister and I would climb into their powder blue Cadillac, extremely excited... Not necessarily for the weekend to come but for the promising trip to what most Cubans would consider the best Cuban restaurant in Miami, Versailles.

Pumping out the best croquetas, pansito, palomilla and anything else that will make your mouth water for exactly 40 years.

I and many others have celebrated not only our baptisms, but birthdays along with our first communions and confessions here... Any excuse for the large extended family to fill the entire back section of the restaurant. 

La Casa de los Trucos, a store that once again reminds me of my childhood. 

Located on 8th street and 13th ave, this store carries everything from mustaches made out of real hair to farting beans.

Not far down the road on 19th ave lies Mr. Yum, an Asian Bistro.

Mr. Yum is a local favorite, although it's a bit pricey it's worth it.

My favorite dish on the menu is the Calle Ocho Tuna. (pictured above)

100 Montaditos

100 Montaditos. A small restaurant located in Midtown Miami. 

 Montadito: a small, toasted, high quality sandwich, which brings both the culture and lifestyle from Spain to Miami.

A montadito is an ideal sandwich to eat during any time of the day.

Since there are 100 different types of sandwiches, there will surely be one to suit your tastebuds.

Everything on the menu is under 5 dollars; which serves as a perfect getaway during this recession.

Wynwood!

If you haven't ventured out to Wynwood, I highly suggest that you do.

This is a new up and coming area of Miami, at first you'll notice that the streets are somewhat dirty and run down, but don't be fooled. Drive in a little deeper and you'll find yourself in an art heaven.

Hello world... My name's Bacci: pronounced "ba-chi". 

And just in case you were wondering, no, that's not my real name.

 I've been called Bacci ever since i can remember, but my real name is Sebastian. 

I currently live in Miami, a city gaining recognition quite fast. Miami is filled with art, fashion, culture, flavor, and opportunity. 

The title of our blog is called The Urban Project. Our purpose is to spread and promote an urban lifestyle to those who are unfamiliar with it. 

An urban lifestyle would be one with movement; one in which new places, things, and ideas flourish. With this, i bid you farewell.

"Life is movement."

The first post: apparently this is supposed to be some sort of big deal.

But since I have no idea where to start or what to say,

I'll just introduce myself. My name is Victoria, but I really only respond to Viki.

This all started as an idea between my friend and "Cuban cousin", Bacci.

The Urban Project's purpose is to promote what our idea of an urban lifestyle is.
